Hearts in the Community has been helping people in Queens and Nassau Counties since 2005. There are always people who are struggling, and your generous contributions help us help them.
Although Hearts in the Community started in Douglaston, as our Board expanded over the years, so did our opportunities to help people in our neighborhoods.
When a Board member learns about someone who might otherwise fall through the cracks, Hearts in the Community discretely and quietly provides short term financial assistance. Sometimes even a small gift can make a tremendous difference in someone’s life. Hearts in the Community protects the privacy and dignity of those who receive grants by not revealing to anyone who they are or what they received.
Because the members of the Board of Directors cover all administrative expenses and there are no paid staff members, 100% of your gift goes to those in need.
