Over the years, Hearts in the Community has provided  help to the “quietly in need” by:

- PAYING rent for a person who suffered the unexpected loss of his job

- HELPING a dad and sole breadwinner pay for a car repair so he could get to work, and helping a new mom pay for diapers and formula until she could return to her job

- GIVING a plane ticket to a young man so he could return home to see his dying father

- CONTRIBUTING to a family to help pay for the interment of a loved one

- DONATING money for haircuts and field trips to a disabled ward of the state who lives in a group home and has no family

- ASSISTING in paying for a chair lift so a stroke victim could go home to an upstairs apartment

- COVERING the cost of bus fare so a grandmother could visit her grandson in juvenile detention

- GIFTING money to help a young widow care for her two young children after their father’s sudden passing

- SUPPORTING students by contributing toward tuition, books and transportation needs

- PLAYING SANTA when, each Christmas, we buy, wrap and deliver pajamas and toys to children at a local elementary school who otherwise would not receive any Christmas gifts, and we donate gloves, hats and scarves to a local soup kitchen.
